Craig graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University in 1992 with a degree in Natural Sciences. He continued at Cambridge in the Department of Physiology, obtaining his doctorate in 1997. He joined the Northampton office of A.A.Thornton & Co. in 1998 and became a partner in 2005. During this time, he gained the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary, University of London, qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 2001 and a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2003. Craig’s patent work covers biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
