Martin graduated from St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University with a degree in Engineering Science, specialising in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. He joined A.A.Thornton & Co. soon after graduation in 1993, qualifying as a European Patent Attorney in 1998 and a Chartered Patent Attorney in 1999. He became a partner of the firm in 2002. Based in the Northampton office, Martin has worked on technologies as diverse as power tools and manicuring devices. He has gained particular expertise in vehicle mechanics, including engines and transmission systems and electro-mechanical wireless pressure and torque sensors. He experience also includes Patent Litigation before the Patent Office and the High Court, as well as the Community Design system. More >
