A Partner since 2006 and with over 10 years’ experience in the field, Rachel specialises in UK and European trade mark prosecution, as well as registration of certification and collective trade marks. She holds an LLB (Hons) from Glamorgan University and is a Registered Trade Mark Attorney.

Rachel joined the Northampton office of A.A.Thornton & Co. in 1999. Prior to this she spent four years as a Trainee Trade Mark Attorney at Hepworth Lawrence Bryer & Bizley, in Rugby.

Rachel handles a wide range of UK and international trade mark cases. Her portfolio of clients covers a variety of sectors, including builders’ merchants, footwear, consumer electronics, entertainment, motor sports and travel.

Core responsibilities and activities

  • UK and EU trade mark prosecution
  • Securing worldwide protection of marks, including registration and liaison with foreign associates
  • Representing clients at hearings before the UK Trade Marks Registry and Appointed Person
  • Instructing solicitors and Counsel in High Court and Court of Appeal cases
  • Member of ITMA and INTA
