Stuart spent a gap year working for British Energy at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Station before graduating from the University of Leeds in 2004 with a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering.  Throughout his time in Leeds, Stuart was sponsored by Bentley Motors, working each summer in their Chassis Department.  As a requirement of his sponsorship, Stuart completed numerous projects for Bentley, the culmination of which was his final year project on the optimisation of the rear suspension arm for the Bentley Continental GT Coupé.  

Following University and a period spent travelling, Stuart joined Reckitt Benckiser on their graduate scheme and worked in the IT department for two years.  In September 2007, Stuart enrolled on and subsequently passed the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary College, University of London, and joined A.A. Thornton & Co. in January 2008.  Stuart is based in the Northampton office and supports Martin Hedges in the Mechanical Engineering department.  He is training to become both a Chartered and European Patent Attorney.
