Shusuke Ono graduated in Biochemistry from Imperial College of London in 2000, having benefited from working in the pharmaceutical industry during his degree. He received a doctorate in 2005 for his research on the biophysics and structure of bacterial proteins at the Department of Biochemistry, University College London. He joined the Chemical Department of A. A. Thornton & Co. in 2005, where he has since been involved in patent prosecution work. He successfully completed examinations in 2006 for the Certificate in Intellectual Property Law at Queen Mary, University of London, and qualified as a European patent attorney in 2009 and as a Chartered Patent Attorney in 2010.
