There is a deadline of 30 June 2016 for electing into the Patent Box and for patent filing, for UK companies who wish to take full advantage of the current scheme. After 30 June, different rules will apply.
From 1 April 2013 onwards, the cost of patenting will be outweighed by patent-related tax savings for many UK companies.
On 6 January 2015 the EPO entered into a Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot agreement with CIPO, IPOS, IMPI and ILPO.
