AA Thornton team welcomes year 12 students into the world of IP

This week we were delighted to welcome a group of year 12 students from St Marylebone School into our London office as part of our IP Inclusive initiative to raise the profile of the various careers in the Intellectual Property industry.  We spent the day discussing the various IP specialist careers available and the routes to qualification/entry.

The day started with a group of our of our attorneys who ran an interactive workshop with the students to enable them to gain a broad understanding of the different aspects IP.  Using recent case studies on recognisable brands and products, the team were able to paint a picture of how various types of IP are used to protect and commercialise items the students come into contact with daily.

After lunch, members of our Business Services team also talked to the students about the careers that make up the cogs of our business, with the heads of  HR, Marketing and Finance, and managers from IT and our Secretariat discussed their routes into legal support and the different types of roles that make up the rest of the department.

We thank St Marylebone School for pairing with us for a second year, and hope to see some of these faces again in the future!
