The Earthshot Prize is “the most ambitious and prestigious” environment award in history and “designed to incentivise change and help to repair our planet over the next ten years.”
Headed up by Prince William, the Prize is centred around five simple but ambitious goals for our planet, which “if achieved by 2030, will improve life for us all, for generations to come.”
AA Thornton are very proud to have worked with the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys and a team of IP firms to give pro-bono advice to the entrants to ensure they had performed due diligence and considered all pertinent areas of intellectual property for their projects.
The Earthshot Prize winners 2021 were recently announced on BBC1 and each of the winners received £1million and a “global network of professional and technical support to scale and roll out their environmental innovations” and more detail can be found on the CIPA website here:
